The Doctor has brought David to the very beginnings of his Solar System, he bounces up towards the doors. "So? Are we ready for adventure! Where to next? The banana fields of the Valeyards? There used to be a weapons plant, but I put a banana grove there instead."
There's a happy feeling on The Doctor's face, as he found someone with the same enthusiasm levels as he does about these things. "Troy? I loved Troy! Been there once, but I can always go again. It was a much different voice and face. Well I was very different then, a bit older with lots of white hairs."
"How about? Um, we see a show? A show on a world of ice? We can see ice cream people!"

"How about you surprise me?" he said softly, standing away from the door and turning back to his lookalike. His smile was slow, but still present and only picked up when he caught the other man's grin.
This was going to be amazing.

The Doctor thinks, he pushes a few dials and with the doors closing he selects somewhere fun to go. It's always nice to revisit old favorites, a cross of the broken barriers and the TARDIS slips through the Vortex to that five billion point.
No, not the destruction of the Earth. He goes for the planet with the cat people and New New York. "Okay, I'm going to be a bit of a pest here. The last time it was a quiet city, but that should of changed now."
"Hold on!" The Doctor cries out, as he props a foot up on the console of the TARDIS and he pulls down on a lever.

It was worth it. Jumping to his feet, David rushed to the door and flung it open as soon as the rocking stopped.
"Blimey!" he said, eyes as wide as saucers as he stumbled out onto the grass. "Bliiiiiimey! What's the smell? Apples?!"
no subject
"Apple grass. Love the smell of the stuff, oh you can take a sprig or two back with you. I'm sure it wouldn't cause much trouble for you." He offers David his hand, and he points to the countless flying cars. "Welcome to the year 5 apple. Oh, you'll get to meet proper aliens too here."

"Apple?" He meant the year and not the grass. "What number does it stand for?"

He was very nearly one of those excitable puppies that would pee if you pet them. Wide eyed, he couldn't let anything go unnoticed.
"New New York. Oh, she's beee-u-tiful!"

"Gack!" The Doctor yells, and he continues to let David drag him. There is then a burst of laughter. "Ah, and of course humans still live on. The city is filled with them, and of course then there are the hybrids."

But first, they needed to get across the lake and to the city.
He was almost whining before he saw a dock with a hover ferry. "Oh, perfect!" he gushed. It was a good thing that the Doctor was fond of running.

He looks at the little credit card sized slot. "Credit cards will be taking over cash soon. The human race never looked back."

Watching the 'credit card' that was actually a cylinder -- he didn't correct the Doctor, sometimes people had strange names for things -- 'pay' for their passage on the ferry, the moment that the buzz sounded and the doors opened, David was already inside. The entire ferry was made of see through glass and beneath the water, he could see that the city across the way was not just built on the island, but sank through it, beneath it, and could foreseeably go passed even the water bed below.
"I've decided," he said, wonder in his eyes, "even if this is a dream... I'm all right with being crazy to experience this!"

"Ello, scuse us." The Doctor goes to find a seat on the ferry. He looks out at the waters under them. He can only hope that something won't try to break the glass bottom. "I could of taken you to the midnight planet, but I had a bad experience there."
The Doctor looks back up at David. "You know? Ask your friend if he wants to well travel with us. It has to be better teaching in a place nobody's grateful for the classics. I can take him to meet Mozart."

"Yes, I'll ask John," David said almost absently. "If you're not a delusion. I might be in a mental hospital for all I know right now!" he pointed out lightly. "The drugs might be making me hallucinate."
Oh, if didn't matter when everything was so brilliant.
