The Doctor has brought David to the very beginnings of his Solar System, he bounces up towards the doors. "So? Are we ready for adventure! Where to next? The banana fields of the Valeyards? There used to be a weapons plant, but I put a banana grove there instead."

There's a happy feeling on The Doctor's face, as he found someone with the same enthusiasm levels as he does about these things. "Troy? I loved Troy! Been there once, but I can always go again. It was a much different voice and face. Well I was very different then, a bit older with lots of white hairs."

"How about? Um, we see a show? A show on a world of ice? We can see ice cream people!"

David blinked at the Doctor. He could have stayed here for a year, but that wasn't possible. He had John to get back to. Eventually. He was sure his best friend wouldn't begrudge him a little vacation. Once in a life time, right?

"How about you surprise me?" he said softly, standing away from the door and turning back to his lookalike. His smile was slow, but still present and only picked up when he caught the other man's grin.

This was going to be amazing.

The Doctor goes to drag his friend back into the TARDIS. "I'd never thought you'd ask."

The Doctor thinks, he pushes a few dials and with the doors closing he selects somewhere fun to go. It's always nice to revisit old favorites, a cross of the broken barriers and the TARDIS slips through the Vortex to that five billion point.

No, not the destruction of the Earth. He goes for the planet with the cat people and New New York. "Okay, I'm going to be a bit of a pest here. The last time it was a quiet city, but that should of changed now."

"Hold on!" The Doctor cries out, as he props a foot up on the console of the TARDIS and he pulls down on a lever.

David was going to insist on seat belts. Or railing belts. Or maybe warning ten seconds ahead of time so that he could lay down first before they went off like space cowboys. He was laughing as he tumbled over, laughing his silly foolish head off even as he rolled right into a wall.

It was worth it. Jumping to his feet, David rushed to the door and flung it open as soon as the rocking stopped.

"Blimey!" he said, eyes as wide as saucers as he stumbled out onto the grass. "Bliiiiiimey! What's the smell? Apples?!"
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 16th, 2010 02:13 am (UTC)
The Doctor looks up to see the brilliant city of the future in front of them.

"Apple grass. Love the smell of the stuff, oh you can take a sprig or two back with you. I'm sure it wouldn't cause much trouble for you." He offers David his hand, and he points to the countless flying cars. "Welcome to the year 5 apple. Oh, you'll get to meet proper aliens too here."
[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 16th, 2010 02:29 am (UTC)
Without even thinking about it, David's hand slipped into the Doctor's. It was as if it belonged there, as if the wiggling fingers sort of made it impossible to say no to them, or deny them anything.

"Apple?" He meant the year and not the grass. "What number does it stand for?"
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 16th, 2010 02:39 am (UTC)
"Billion." The Doctor continues to hold David's hand, and he looks at the brilliant city of New New York. "And, that is New New York."

[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 16th, 2010 02:48 am (UTC)
If David said 'blimey' one more time it would cease to be a word and turn into those weird collections of syllables that no long make a lick of sense. He dragged the Doctor forward, actually running. He could pick grass later. Now, he wanted nothing more than to get into one of those cars and poke around. Or climb to the top of one of those buildings.

He was very nearly one of those excitable puppies that would pee if you pet them. Wide eyed, he couldn't let anything go unnoticed.

"New New York. Oh, she's beee-u-tiful!"

The Doctor feels great again, this couple of weeks of sure glee should brilliant! This time for once, The Doctor isn't the one doing the pulling.

"Gack!" The Doctor yells, and he continues to let David drag him. There is then a burst of laughter. "Ah, and of course humans still live on. The city is filled with them, and of course then there are the hybrids."
[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 16th, 2010 03:08 am (UTC)
"No!" David said, shocked and amazed. "Human...other thing...hybrids?! You mean humans are interbreeding-- Oh, if I was a biologist!" He could be an honorary one! A few billion years in the future might have some very interesting future things going on!

But first, they needed to get across the lake and to the city.

He was almost whining before he saw a dock with a hover ferry. "Oh, perfect!" he gushed. It was a good thing that the Doctor was fond of running.
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 16th, 2010 03:41 am (UTC)
"Yes, there's human fish even!" The Doctor calls out, and he looks at the ferry. There's no worry about money, he reaches into his pocket for his sonic screwdriver.

He looks at the little credit card sized slot. "Credit cards will be taking over cash soon. The human race never looked back."

[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 16th, 2010 12:31 pm (UTC)
"Human fish!" And there was that 'blimey' again as David ran his hands through his already wild hair. "Can we see human fish? Can they speak? Can they breathe air? Oh no, will it be like Waterworld?"

Watching the 'credit card' that was actually a cylinder -- he didn't correct the Doctor, sometimes people had strange names for things -- 'pay' for their passage on the ferry, the moment that the buzz sounded and the doors opened, David was already inside. The entire ferry was made of see through glass and beneath the water, he could see that the city across the way was not just built on the island, but sank through it, beneath it, and could foreseeably go passed even the water bed below.

"I've decided," he said, wonder in his eyes, "even if this is a dream... I'm all right with being crazy to experience this!"
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 16th, 2010 05:46 pm (UTC)
"They're on a different planet." The ferry has a few catkind wandering about, a few blue aliens and a bunch of others along with them.

"Ello, scuse us." The Doctor goes to find a seat on the ferry. He looks out at the waters under them. He can only hope that something won't try to break the glass bottom. "I could of taken you to the midnight planet, but I had a bad experience there."

The Doctor looks back up at David. "You know? Ask your friend if he wants to well travel with us. It has to be better teaching in a place nobody's grateful for the classics. I can take him to meet Mozart."
[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 17th, 2010 12:59 am (UTC)
David's grin was inspiring as he felt the 5 apple wind move through his hair. He closed his eyes for a moment before he realized he might be missing out on seeing something amazing!

"Yes, I'll ask John," David said almost absently. "If you're not a delusion. I might be in a mental hospital for all I know right now!" he pointed out lightly. "The drugs might be making me hallucinate."

Oh, if didn't matter when everything was so brilliant.

The Doctor is enjoying the ferry ride over to New New York. Now if this trip can go without anything happening that would be great, but when has it ever?

The engines of the ferry grind to a stop and there they sit in the middle of the lake. "Oh, I'm sure it's just a bit of trouble with the engines." The Doctor seems unconcerned with the entire thing.
[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 17th, 2010 04:51 pm (UTC)
"I guess even in the year 5 apple," David said, leaving the edge of the boat's guard rail to sit beside the Doctor, "there is bound to be a bit of a mechanical problem here or there, yeah?"

He was still enjoying the breeze, the cool air, the bright sun. His lips curled upwards happy until the whole boat shook.

"Seems the engines are coming back online!" he exclaimed before the boat shook again and the passengers began to scream.
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 17th, 2010 10:42 pm (UTC)
The Doctor frowns and he looks to David. "You'll have something to tell John when we get back." Where the Doctor goes, trouble always seems to follow him.

He listens to the sounds of the screaming passengers, and he turns to look to see what's behind him.

It was like an adventure! Earth women were constantly being picked up by space men to roam around the stars with, right? So he wasn't much of a woman and this space man looked exactly like him, but all the better.

"Hold on Doctor!" he said, willing to run after him, even into danger. If this was just a dream, he'd be fine!

The danger did not seem to be coming from behind them exactly, but the clear bottom of the boat was not so clear anymore, but a dark purple. With cream colors spots. "Now that's odd--" he muttered before he realized they were being attacked by a sea creature!
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 19th, 2010 03:51 pm (UTC)
The Doctor listens to something hitting the glass bottom of the boat, he peers down to see what might be coming for them. He holds a hand out for David. "We're going to need to get those engines started, or Bruce might be having a bit of a buffet."

The Doctor looks at the ferry, and he goes to a little computer screen to get an idea as to where the engines are. He takes that 'credit card' from his pocket, and he goes to get the computer up and running. He's calm in the face of danger that could end the lives of him and the others here. "Engine room, engine room of course I should have a word with the captain."

"Uh no, not Jack."
[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 20th, 2010 12:40 pm (UTC)
"Bruce?" David asked, breathing in as he took the Doctor's hand without question. "Is that it's name or did you just make it up?"

He knew that he should be afraid, but he wasn't. Giant sea monster come to eat thier boat? No problem! David was actually grinning as the Doctor pulled him down into the engine room.

"Do this a lot, huh?"
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 22nd, 2010 04:23 am (UTC)
"Yeah, Bruce it sounds like a Bruce," The Doctor is full of endless energy even when countless lives are in danger.

He rips open the access panel to the engines, and he goes to look at the wires, wow talk about a mess. "Oh yeah! And, I love it!" The Doctor takes a bunch of wires in his mouth. "Tasty." He chews on one frayed wire, as he goes to work with sonic on hand to get the engines running again.

[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 22nd, 2010 12:15 pm (UTC)
"It sounds hungry!" David remarked, nearly bumping into the Doctor when he stopped to nibble on wires. well, weirder things had happened and the Doctor seemed to have a very strange oral fixation.

The crunch of the boat around them makes the human jump from foot to foot.

"Can you fix it?"
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 26th, 2010 03:09 am (UTC)
"Oooh, I can, I can! Just give me a second!" The Doctor sounds impatient, and he munches on the wire a bit. He then goes to thread it back into place, the sonic buzzing away.

There's more crunching, crunch, crunch and then the boat rocks again.

"But, anyway having fun on your first big trip?"
[identity profile] impulsive-charm.livejournal.com on April 26th, 2010 03:14 am (UTC)
"Not 'anyway' Doctor! My first big trip will be my last big trip if you don't save me!" he cried out, though even as his hands went into his hair, he was grinning like a madman.

This, believe it or not, was fun for the physicist. Well, as much as being threatened to be eaten could be fun!
[identity profile] tenthdoc.livejournal.com on April 26th, 2010 03:37 am (UTC)
"I'm going as fast, as this old ship will let me. The reactor is a little out dated, why do they always skimp out on these things."

The Doctor continues to work at a frantic pace, and he hears the engines try to start up or it's the big thing under them. "Didn't the Titanic teach anyone anything?!"
